The refurbishment of a family home in North London involved the return to the buildings original form, and the levelling of a series of stepped plans that had created awkward and impractical spatial arrangements that were not ideally suited to a young family.
Having been subject to a series of lightweight, poor quality internal alterations, the building suffered from general neglect with the original building however being sound.
Therefore, with a limited budget, a large proportion of which was allocated to the removal of non-original elements, internal and external materials that required no secondary finishes were therefore selected, in order to be a resourceful with the remaining budget as possible.
The result was home that formed a robust and adaptable backdrop to family life.
Constructed between August 2018 and February 2019.
