The project involved the creation of a family home within a former light industrial building, in the Brussels district of Molenbeek.
Acting as a local executive Architect, in collaboration with U.K. based Adam Khan Architect’s, we were appointed to deliver the project to completion for clients Laure Prouvost and Nick Aikens.
Retaining the basic form of the original building, the project removed a majority of ground floor partitions and introduced a small courtyard to the rear, overcoming a general lack of natural light.
A central, triple height void aimed to link the various floors, including a generous first floor landing in which the master bathroom was informally located in.
Throughout the space, the client made a series of interventions in the form of floor finishes, the decoration of walls and other cast and sculpted components.
Constructed between March October 2019 and August 2020.
