Following an invitation by ‘Sun Buddies’, a Swedish eye wear label created by the Tres Bien brand, a simple scenography was produced to display their SS19 Paris Fashion Week collection.
In use for a week, and occupying a tight corner location within a gallery space, the proposal sough to provide a functional solution that drew natural light into the display environment. It also aimed to provide practical solutions for what is often the busy and fast moving process of introducing a collection to multiple people, simultaneously.
Simple display plinths, of varying heights and forms, each with partially mirrored surfaces, allowed for the display of products in varying densities. Where the characteristics of the existing spaces allowed for it, these objects responded to the forms of the existing space in order to provicde a contextual specificity to their arrangement.
Their varying heights, forms and sizes also allowed for visitors to the space to form their own selections that could be viewed in isolation from the remainder of the collection and free from the distractions of what is often a distracting environment.
